5 Cosmetic Dental Issues You Can Conceal with Versatile Veneers
Veneers are one of the top cosmetic dental treatments today. It’s easy to see why: They’re natural-looking, comfortable, and can really transform your smile. Veneers are also highly versatile, concealing many issues with ease.

Veneers are tooth-shaped porcelain panels that attach to the fronts of teeth. Although they’re small, veneers have big powers. They cover the entire visible part of the teeth, effectively masking any cosmetic issues that may lie beneath.

They’re the most versatile option for treating cosmetic issues in the “smile teeth” (the teeth most visible when you smile). At Pioneer Dental Group, our skilled dentist, Dr. Behzad Binafard, and a highly trained dental care team offer porcelain veneers in our Norwalk, California, office.

When we talk about cosmetic dentistry options with our patients, they’re often surprised to learn just how many ways veneers can enhance the smile. Here are five cosmetic issues that you can visually erase with veneers.

Chipped teeth

When you chip a tooth, it’s important to get it checked out right away. In many cases, a chipped tooth is both a cosmetic concern and a potential health concern. Beyond being unsightly, a chip can allow bacteria to enter your tooth more easily, and it could weaken your tooth.

A veneer can neatly solve both problems. It restores the exact appearance of your tooth before you chipped it. And, it strengthens and protects the potentially vulnerable tooth beneath it.

Gaps

A gap between your teeth can make you feel embarrassed and hesitant to really show your smile. We can create custom veneers that neatly cover the gap while maintaining a very natural look.

Usually, if you have a gap — for example, a gap between your two front teeth — you need two veneers. Those two veneers are both slightly wider than your teeth, allowing for seamless gap coverage.

Teeth stains

When you have heavy enamel stains or intrinsic (inside-tooth) stains, teeth whitening may not work. With veneers, it doesn’t matter how deep or dark your tooth stains are.

We can create porcelain veneers in the ideal shade of white to match with your other teeth, giving you a very real-looking result.

Misshapen teeth

Misshapen teeth may be too long, short, wide, narrow, or have some other type of cosmetic issue that you don’t like. With veneers, we can create the tooth shape, size, and overall appearance you desire.

Sometimes, for example, if you have very long front teeth, you may need another procedure first, like trimming those teeth. Then, the veneers fit atop the teeth to perfect and protect.

Tooth misalignment

There are a few options for tooth misalignment. It all depends on your main goals. Invisalign® may be the right choice if you’re looking for long-term tooth alignment correction. The tooth-straightening system shifts your teeth into the ideal positions over time. Invisalign is often ideal for people with mild-to-moderate tooth alignment issues.

But, if you have very minor tooth alignment problems and they only affect a few teeth, veneers could be a good choice. For instance, if your two front teeth are slightly askew, veneers can neatly conceal it and make them look perfectly straight.
